America isn’t moving its troops out of Germany and Belgium for Poland. That’s what the U.S. military’s top officer in Europe, U.S. Air Force Gen. Tod Wolters, told reporters in a briefing this morning.

New age group eligible from Thursday while focus remains on older at-risk people
Israel’s health ministry has said it will offer coronavirus vaccines to anyone over the age of 16, as part of a rapid campaign that has already seen the majority of older and vulnerable populations receive shots.
The ministry has told healthcare providers they can start booking appointments for the new age group starting on Thursday.

The Kremlin has attempted to play down the jailing of the opposition leader Alexei Navalny, saying that his 32-month imprisonment will have not have “significant influence” on Russian politics or lead to a mass protest movement similar to the one in neighbouring Belarus.
Meanwhile, protesters detained at recent rallies in support of Navalny have complained of inhumane conditions as police hold them in overcrowded jails or on buses in subzero temperatures days after their arrest.

The UK health secretary, Matt Hancock, has welcomed a new study that suggests one dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine may reduce transmission of coronavirus by two-thirds. Hancock said the results of the trial backed up Britain’s strategy to delay the administering of the second dose of the vaccine by 12 weeks.
Hancock added: ‘We may well need boosters that have a slightly adjusted vaccine as well in the same way that we do for flu each year.’

Fox News, America’s unfair and dishonest news station, is desperate for viewers. Since the election, their viewership has dropped as Trump fans – enraged at the network for calling Arizona for Biden and for daring to have a couple of anchors that sometimes tell the truth – have begun abandoning the network.
It was always going to happen. Fox News has been a right wing network forever, but during the Trump era, they went even more full on crazy, fostering a toxic but profitable relationship with Trump.
CNN Reliable Sources host, Brian Stelter, writes about this in his excellent book, Hoax: Donald Trump, Fox News, and the Dangerous Distortion of Truth. Apparently, according to Stelter, the word “Hoax” was used around 900 times in Fox in just a six month period!
Fox news weaponizes anger and outrage. With everything to imaginary caravans coming to kill us all, to wars on Christmas, to our very way of life being in peril….Fox knows that anger sells and being in a perpetual state of rage snags viewers.
But apparently Fox is now not “Trumpian” enough for some viewers, because Fox News is not having a good month of ratings. As viewers abandon Fox for even more loony conspiracy outlets, like Newsmax, Fox will have to make a tough choice to make on how they proceed. Money will be at the root of their choice. The network exists in an alternative reality and there is not great reason to think it will change anytime soon.
