Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and other federal ministers are expected to speak on Monday, hours ahead of the planned vote on the decision to invoke the Emergencies Act.
Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino said Sunday that designating no-go zones within Canada's capital, ensuring tow trucks were available to remove vehicles from city streets, as well as stopping the flow of money and goods to demonstrators were clear ways the act helped end the Ottawa blockades.
Conservatives, however, are critical of the government move with some pushing the Liberals to revoke the act now that the blockades appear to be over.
The vote on the act is expected to pass when MPs vote at approximately 8 p.m. ET, with the NDP voicing its support for the act. The Conservatives and Bloc Québecois have said they would vote against the motion. If the motion fails, however, the act and all powers stemming from it would be torn up. If it passes, they will remain in place until mid-March at the latest.

Украина сосредоточила на границе самопровозглашенных Донецкой и Луганской народных республик (ДНР и ЛНР) более 53 тысяч военных. Об этом заявил министр обороны России Сергей Шойгу на внеочередном заседании Совета безопасности России.
По его словам, эта группировка имеет в своем распоряжении более двух тысяч единиц тяжелой техники, в том числе 354 танка и 160 реактивных систем залпового огня. Помимо этих сил в распоряжении украинской стороны находятся ракетные комплексы «Точка-У», способные доставлять управляемые заряды на расстояние до 120 километров.
Отдельное внимание Шойгу обратил на националистические батальоны. Он отметил, что их бойцы слабо подчиняются центральному командованию украинской армии и могут стать причиной большого количества военных преступлений и организованного террора против местного населения.

Киевские власти не собираются исполнять минские соглашения по урегулированию на юго-востоке Украины, они публично многократно об этом заявляли, сообщил президент России Владимир Путин на заседании Совета безопасности РФ в Кремле.
"В ходе переговорного процесса возник мирный план урегулирования, который и называется Минский комплекс мер, поскольку, как вы помните, встречались именно в городе Минске. Но весь ход последующих событий показывает, что сегодняшние киевские власти не собираются его исполнять - более того, они публично об этом многократно уже заявили и на самом высшем государственном уровне, и на уровне министра иностранных дел", - заявил Путин.

IRWINDALE, CALIFORNIA - Irwindale PD and LACoFD responded to a traffic collision with a vehicle through a fence and over a cliff at N. Azusa Canyon Rd and E Cypress St. Once officers and firefighters arrived on scene they located a vehicle that crashed through a fence travelling 250 feet down the hillside with the driver and passenger ejected. Firefighters located one person with head injuries at the bottom of the cliff. Officers down at the scene smelled alcohol coming from the person and believed to be the driver. The person was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital. Firefighters located a second victim up on the hillside. The second victim was pronounced dead by firefighters on scene. Irwindale PD Is investigating this as a DUI fatal crash.

HOUSTON, TEXAS - Homeowner, Mr Smith, is visibly upset but in good spirits after his home burned more than it should have. Mr Smith lives on a very well-to-do street near Lake Houston but the street does not have fire-hydrants. All the new area around his home have hydrants, but not his street. Over the past 15 years years multiple homes have burned due to the lack of water to the street. Over the years residence have petitioned with no prevail.
The fire chief knew that water would be a issue when the call came out and ordered every available fire engine and truck with water to the scene. Finally a water-tender (giant water truck) showed up to help finish the over 90 minute fire fight.
