Covid-19 micro-clusters in NYC - 2:16 PM 10/18/2020 | Dear Governor Cuomo: The evidence of Covid-19 Micro-clusters in NYC may indicate not only the "lack of compliance" and the "need for reinforcement" but most importantly the hypothetical connection with some factors at play in certain local areas, like the greater rates of the rodent infestations. This has to be looked into, and the research of this issue should be performed. We do not know much about this "Disease X-19" yet, and we cannot really control "this virus" or any other causative factors yet. We have to keep the open mind and study them objectively, relying on our own experiences. I hope, as the good Governor and the intelligent person, you understand the potential significance of these unknown aspects and the need to study them.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo unveils plan that targets clusters at 'block-by-block' level
NEW YORK (WABC) -- As the temperatures begin to drop during the fall season, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said New York should expect to see a rise in cases due to more people being indoors. That is why the state is employing a "micro-cluster" strategy to target the spread as opposed to its statewide or regional approach. "So rather than looking at it on a state level, or regional level, or even a county level, or even neighborhood level, we are now going to analyze it on the block-by-block," Cuomo said. "But we actually have data that is so specific that we can't show it, because it would violate privacy conditions. But we know exactly where the cases are coming from." EMBED <>More Videos Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the state will employ a "micro-cluster" strategy to fight the spread of the coronavirus this fall. This means more targeted testing and mitigation measures that reflect why the virus is spreading in those specific areas, with increased enforcement as well. "It requires more testing, more targeted testing, and then you have to be responsive to the situations in that specific locality with mitigation measures for that specific locality," Cuomo said." But it has the advantage of causing less disruption." Cuomo said if there's a problem in Kew Gardens, Queens, then that's their issue. RELATED:Here's when NY movie theaters outside of NYC will be allowed to reopen "Why affect activity in the rest of points," he said. "Let alone Brooklyn, Bronx, etc., right? So it's much smarter, it's more effective. It's also less disruptive." Cuomo explained the keys to the strategy include: - Refined detection - Specific mitigation - Enforcement RELATED:Positivity rate low in schools, but testing concerns linger "You have to have refined detection, which is more targeted testing," he said. "You have to have mitigation measures for those areas that that reflects why the virus is spreading in those areas. And then you have to do enforcement." He added the existence of a micro-cluster means a lack of compliance. The strategy will be essential in hot spotslike those in Brooklyn, Queens, Rockland, Orange, Nassau and Broome counties, which are already under restrictions as part of Cuomo's new cluster action initiative. The FBI, Militias, Truth and Comey's Legacy - The Jewish Press - JewishPress.com | Gatestone Institute | 30 Tishri 5781 October 18, 2020
In the past few days, news reports have alerted us to an FBI claim that a militia group was planning to kidnap the governor of Michigan. The Detroit Free Press wrote:
Advertisement Half of the country does not believe the FBI. Is it possible that the militia story is another contrived, anti-Trump, smear job by elements within the FBI? If the FBI headquarters can run a coup against the president, can Michigan FBI agents phony-up some charges against fringe characters with sketchy criminal information? It would not be the first time. Back on March 29, 2010, the Department of Justice announced the following:
The 2010 Michigan militia group called themselves the Hutarees. The case did not end well for the FBI. Charges were dropped. Others from the Hutarees faced lesser charges. Some of the Hutarees ended up suing the government over the investigation and prosecution. It seems the FBI went too far on too little. Militia is a news media certified code-word for Trump-supporter. FBI-doubters know the bureau launched a sophisticated operation against the Trump campaign, Trump transition, and finally the Trump administration. Even the New York Times admits it. It was a soft coup. The entire criminal conspiracy is being documented now in movies. The FBIs reputation has been destroyed through blatant politicization. Here are the corrupt political police: Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Clinesmith, Pientka, Brower, Baker, et al. That is a collection of various dirty cops, oath-breakers, coup-plotters, and persons lacking candor in FBI parlance. Those are just some of the FBI headliners no Justice Department names on that list. Current FBI Director Christopher Wray hardly engenders confidence as a strong leader bent on cleaning house and reforming a corrupt agency that attempted a soft coup against the presidency. Wray is all about damage control and institutional preservation. When it comes to honesty, Wray does not have a tough act to follow. That is why he is comfortable making the demonstrably false claim that Antifa is more of an ideology than a group. Now we are dealing with reports of the Wolverine Watchmen. Here is the interesting part of one of the news reports where we should pay close attention. (It is also the operational part of the FBIs activities wherein things have a tendency to legally fall apart):
Also pay attention to this excerpt from the news report:
While the anti-Trump media codeword militia is used to describe the alleged plotters video evidence from Twitter and YouTube reveals that one of the leaders is an anarchist, certainly not a right wing Trumpster. Likewise, more questions are raised about the plotters, their affiliations, and motives with this news report:
Perhaps the FBIs case is 100% true? Perhaps the kidnapping story is legitimate? Perhaps this is not a piece of agitation propaganda? Would a governor cooperate or be complicit in the phony smear? Would the news media blow the anti-Trump dog whistle and blame the president for a kidnapping that never actually happened? Of course, the presumption of innocence is foundational to our system of justice. Comeys living legacy, and the permanent institutional stain on the FBI more generally, is that we cannot take the Bureaus claims as truthful. We used to give due credence to sworn Special Agents of the FBI. No more. (Chris Farrell is a former counterintelligence case officer. Latin American Herald Tribune - Nine Arrested over Beheading of French Teacher
PARIS Nine people have been arrested in connection with the beheading of a French school teacher who had shown cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad to his pupils, police said on Saturday. Samuel Paty, a 47-year-old secondary school history and geography teacher, was killed by a knifeman in the street on Friday afternoon. French prosecutor Jean-François Ricard said the suspected attacker was an 18-year-old born in Moscow of Chechen origin who was not known to the countrys intelligence services. He lived with his family in Evreux, Normandy, about 100 kilometers northwest of Paris. Nine people, including the suspects friends, parents, grandfather and younger brother, have been arrested in connection with the attack. The father of one of the victims students and another man have also been detained on suspicion of launching a campaign against the teacher after he showed the satirical cartoons to his students. Ricard explained that Paty had shown the drawings to his class during a lesson on freedom of expression and civil education. The father of a Muslim student complained on social media, posting several videos in the following days in which he identified the teacher, gave his telephone number and the address of the school where he worked. He and the other man, who was being monitored by anti-terrorist police, also complained to the school demanding Paty be fired. Paty was murdered near the College du Bois dAulne where he taught in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, about 30 kilometers from Paris, shortly before 5:00 pm Friday. A photograph of the beheaded teacher was posted on Twitter moments later. Police apprehended his suspected killer in the neighboring town of Eragny and he was shot dead after allegedly refusing to comply with instructions and behaving in a threatening manner. Witnesses reportedly heard the attacker shout Allahu Akbar (God is great in Arabic) during the incident. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen condemned the attack on Saturday, expressing her condolences to those affected and saying her thoughts were with teachers in France and Europe. Without them, there are no citizens. Without them, there is no democracy, she said in a statement. French President Emmanuel Macron has described the killing as an Islamist terrorist attack and said the killer wanted to strike down the republic and its values. French authorities have been on alert since last months start of the trial of 14 people accused of involvement in the January 2015 attacks on the offices of satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo and a kosher supermarket, which left 17 dead. Charlie Hebdo marked the trial by republishing the Prophet Muhammad caricatures that sparked the 2015 bloodbath and al-Qaeda responded with death threats against the newspapers staff.

EU sanctions 6 Putin allies, including Russian spy agency chief, over poisoning of Navalny
Text Size: The European Union blacklisted six people in Russia allied to President Vladimir Putin as punishment for the attempted murder of opposition leader Alexey Navalny. The targets of the EU asset freezes and travel bans imposed on Thursday include Aleksandr Bortnikov, leader of Russias domestic spy agency; Sergei Kiriyenko, first deputy chief of staff in the presidential administration; and Andrei Yarin, head of the presidential administrations domestic policy directorate. Navalny blames Putin for poisoning, Kremlin calls him CIA assetThe 27-nation bloc also froze the assets of one entity: the State Scientific Research Institute for Organic Chemistry and Technology. The penalties come nine days after the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons confirmed that a military-grade Novichok nerve agent was used to poison Navalny in Russia on Aug. 20. He was then flown to Germany for treatment. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday that the government in Moscow would retaliate against the EU with reciprocal sanctions. Ongoing conflictsThe Navalny case marks the latest in a series of EU-Russia disputes including the 2014 annexation by Moscow of the Ukrainian region of Crimea, the 2018 poisoning of a former Russian double agent on U.K. soil and an Aug. 9 disputed Belarusian presidential election. Six years ago, as part of a larger package of sanctions imposed over Russian meddling in Ukraine, the EU blacklisted oligarchs close to the Kremlin. Thursdays penalties are based on a German-French plan and were published in the blocs Official Journal after a fast-track approval procedure. The other three blacklisted Russians are Aleksei Krivoruchko and Pavel Popov, two deputy ministers of defense, and Sergei Menyaylo, Putins envoy to the Siberian Federal District. The Russian government says it has no evidence that Navalny was poisoned and officials have called the case a set-up by western security services. Rights group suspects Russia, Syria war crimes in Idlib
World572751011 Associated Press October 15, 2020 4:30am BEIRUT An international human rights group said Thursday that a yearlong military campaign by Syrian and Russian forces that repeatedly attacked civilian targets in the last rebel stronghold in northwestern Syria constituted apparent war crimes and may amount to crimes against humanity. Human Rights Watch released a 167-page report titled "Targeting Life in Idlib," in which the group names 10 senior Syrian and Russian civilian and military officials including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Syrian President Bashar Assad as well as defense ministers and top generals who may be implicated in war crimes as a matter of command responsibility. "They knew or should have known about the abuses and took no effective steps to stop them or punish those responsible," Human Rights Watch said in its report, which covered attacks on Idlib province between April 2019 and March. The monthslong Russian-backed Syrian offensive killed and wounded thousands and displaced nearly a million people. The offensive stopped in March, when Turkey and Russia agreed on a cease-fire. Turkey is a main backer of Syrian rebels while Russia has joined Syrian government forces in the battles. HRW said that during the Syrian campaign in which government forces captured scores of villages and towns, dozens of "unlawful air and ground strikes" hit hospitals, schools, and markets killing hundreds of civilians. The attacks seriously impaired the rights to health, education, food, water, and shelter, triggering mass displacement, HRW said. "The repeated unlawful attacks appear part of a deliberate military strategy to destroy civilian infrastructure and force out the population, making it easier for the Syrian government to retake control," said Kenneth Roth, executive director of Human Rights Watch. Human Rights Watch documented 46 air and ground attacks, including the use of cluster munitions, that directly hit or damaged civilian targets in violation of the laws of war. The strikes killed at least 224 civilians and wounded 561, HRW said adding that they were only a fraction of the total attacks during that time in Idlib and surrounding areas. It said the documented strike concentrated on four urban areas, including the provincial capital, also called Idlib, as well as the towns of Jisr al-Shughour, Ariha and Maaret al-Numan damaging 12 health care facilities and 10 schools, forcing them to shut down, in some cases permanently. "Following our guidelines, the participant's illness is being reviewed and evaluated by the ENSEMBLE independent Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) as well as our internal clinical and safety physicians," the company said in a statement. ENSEMBLE is the name of the study. "Adverse events -- illnesses, accidents, etc. -- even those that are serious, are an expected part of any clinical study, especially large studies." The pause was first reported by Stat News. Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine arm is developing the shot. The company did not say what the unexplained illness was, but one point of clinical trials is to find out if vaccines cause dangerous side effects. Trials are stopped when they pop up while doctors check to see if the illness can be linked to the vaccine or is a coincidence. "Based on our strong commitment to safety, all clinical studies conducted by the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson have prespecified guidelines. These ensure our studies may be paused if an unexpected serious adverse event (SAE) that might be related to a vaccine or study drug is reported, so there can be a careful review of all of the medical information before deciding whether to restart the study," the company said. "We must respect this participant's privacy. We're also learning more about this participant's illness, and it's important to have all the facts before we share additional information," the company added. "Serious adverse events are not uncommon in clinical trials, and the number of serious adverse events can reasonably be expected to increase in trials involving large numbers of participants. Further, as many trials are placebo-controlled, it is not always immediately apparent whether a participant received a study treatment or a placebo." Such a pause is not immediately concerning, agreed Dr. Ashish Jha, the dean of the Brown University School of Public Health."This is completely expected, and it's just a reminder how ridiculous it is to try and meet a political timeline of having a vaccine before Nov. 3," Jha told CNN's Chris Cuomo. "The Johnson & Johnson trial is the biggest trial of the vaccine that I know of -- 60,000 people," Jha said. "Within that trial you'd expect a few pauses." The drugmaker said there is a "significant distinction" between a study pause and a regulatory hold on a clinical trial. "A study pause, in which recruitment or dosing is paused by the study sponsor, is a standard component of a clinical trial protocol," Johnson & Johnson said. "A regulatory hold of a clinical trial is a requirement by a regulatory health authority, such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. As outlined in our transparency commitments, we proactively disclose any regulatory hold of a pivotal clinical trial." This is the second Phase 3 coronavirus vaccine trial to be paused in the US. AstraZeneca's vaccine trial was pausedlast month because of a neurological complication in a volunteer in Britain. While the trial resumed there and in other countries, it remains paused in the United States while the US Food and Drug Administration investigates. "We want the vaccine to be safe and we've got to let the process play out and it's going to take a while," Jha said. "To me it's reassuring that companies are acting responsibly and pausing when they need to." Johnson's Phase 3 trial started in September. It's one of six coronavirus vaccines being tested in the US, and one of four in the most advanced, Phase 3 stage. It requires just one dose of vaccine, so federal officials have said they hope testing may be completed a bit faster than other vaccines, including those being made by Moderna and Pfizer, which require two doses.

German Imperialism & European Ambitions Beyond NATO
At a conference, Contradictions within imperialist countries and the danger of war, journalist Jörg Kronauer gave a presentation on German imperialism and its military ambitions. This is an excerpt of the presentation. In this excerpt, we bring you his views on how German imperialism operates within the NATO alliance and within Europe. He also talks about PESCO or the Permanent Structured Cooperation. The full video can be viewed here. Jörg Kronauer is a German journalist and author, and editor in chief at German Foreign Policy. Germanys army (Bundeswehr) is capable of supporting military missions but is too weak and has too little practical experience to constitute a threat, let alone carry out any mission on its own, for its own interests. Therefore, NATO is the alliance that is useful on a global level against great powers and at the moment, especially against Russia. The ongoing conflict is the fight over who exerts influence in eastern Europe: the Germans or the Russians. This power struggle led to the escalation of the Ukraine conflict and it has not been decided unequivocally for the German/European or Western side, which increases the desire to expand the military pressure on Russia. It manifests itself in the leading role the German army is playing in building the NATO spearhead and stationing NATO troops in Eastern Europe. In this conflict with Russia, NATO is the ideal ally for the German establishment, because it gains access to the military weight of the United States. US president Donald Trumps threat to leave NATO or no longer participate in its activities unless the European countries, and especially Germany, pay its share is not so unusual. Any US government would insist on more money some more discreetly, some more diplomatically than Trump if NATO, with its operations in Eastern Europe, is helping to serve German interests against Russia. So, following the logic of imperialist hegemony, Germany should invest more in NATO. And that proposal does not contradict the interests of the German elites, who for their part want to increase military spending anyway and can now say: We have to increase our contribution, our military spending, Trump demands it, we cannot do otherwise. It is no longer in their interest, however, that the United States determine the course of events, the pace and the direction of any military thrust. Within NATO, the strongest military power is also the strongest political power, in this case the United States. This in turn means that German elites have little influence on NATO but need to submit to the US interests within this alliance. German elites have been looking for alternatives at the European level. But why do you need a second military alliance If you have a working one? For the ruling circles in Germany, it was Franz Josef Strauss (a right-wing politician) who formulated the position as early as the 1970s that Germany has its own military-political interests and, if necessary, should be able to conduct operations even if they do not correspond to the interests of the United States. This does not mean a war against the United States, but a war against the interests of the United States. For this scenario, Germany needs its own armed forces. At the current moment, there are still historical and legal obstacles to a strong, internationally active and independent Bundeswehr. Hence, a broader alliance would be beneficial. Thus, Germany is seeking this alliance within Europe through building an EU army. A European Army has been a demand for 15 or 20 years now. Small steps have been taken in this direction, for example EU battle groups have been set up. So far, they have never been deployed because of the conflicting interests between the EU powers. Currently, the plan extends to build an army of Europeans including non-EU countries like Great Britain and Norway, which is a much stronger military power then generally assumed. PESCO, the Permanent Structured Cooperation, of which 25 of 28 countries are members, as a strategy, is not to set about building large EU infrastructures that are then filled with soldiers. This approach wouldnt work because ultimately, both Germany and France, as well as the other states, will not give up control of their own armed forces completely. Hence, the strategy is to build this army of Europeans step by step from the bottom-up with small projects. For example, common ambulance trains or joint projects in the logistics sector are being set up or certain armament projects are being pushed forward. All this is taking place within the framework of PESCO, and it is unspectacular. No one reports on a German-Hungarian ambulance train. This does not cross the threshold to get into a major daily newspaper or the television news. But it is taking place! And in another 15 years, this army will be able to give Europeans a global and leading role. Certain conditions are necessary for PESCO to work: Countries need to develop their defense capabilities, in particular, by participating in multinational equipment and armament programs, and armed forces must be made available within a certain period of time if necessary. Members of PESCO are countries such as Austria, which is officially neutral. PESCO actually works as a covert, permanent arms-buildup for the whole of Europe, and in the end, Germany is the beneficiary and will insist on a leading role. And the so-called neutrality of Austria or the Nordic countries, as well as Ireland, Finland and Sweden, is worth nothing. Neutrality really is in the past. Countries taking part in PESCO, and that is de facto all of them, must be prepared to support the wars that will come thats the objective of this project. Germany is indeed the leader at PESCO, which causes friction between Germany and France, the two strongest powers in the EU. France is involved in PESCO, but does not play a leadership role. From the point of view of the ruling circles in France, wars are not in the future, they have existed continuously, most recently in Mali. Frances perspective is that while it is fine to have an army of Europeans in 10 years, by then, its armed forces will be completely exhausted or as the case may be, it will have to spend vast amounts of money. The French elites need a faster solution, for Mali, or its next mission in Africa. So, a second initiative exists at the EU level, alongside PESCO. PESCO being a German project receives some attention within the German press at least, the second European Intervention Initiative, works differently and is not reported on at all as an actual deliberate project. A dozen European countries are now participating, and they are not doing training like ambulance trains and joint armament projects. Instead, they orient their existing armed forces towards joint operations. What is already taking place today such as joint situation analyses and at least thinking through joint deployment scenarios is thus geared towards rapid joint deployment. The model for this is the war in Libya in 2011, which, with the support of the USA and the participation of other armed forces, was ultimately led primarily by France and Great Britain. And they did not set up a bilateral alliance for years to come, but quickly threw their lot together and learned how to wage war together in practice. European imperialism is on the march and preparing for war. Anti-imperialist struggle needs to stop the creeping arms build-up in the European region. Courtesy: Peoples Dispatch

The head of American counterintelligence accused Russia of wanting to destroy the United States | FREE NEWS
BY Steve Cowan 50 Views However, he said that China is a more serious threat to the country. William Evanina, Director of the United States National Counterintelligence and Security Center, accused Russia of wanting to destroy the United States but said China posed a more serious threat to the country. In an interview with the Hearst channel, he was asked whether Russia and China want to destroy America. Evanina replied that Russia wants to, but China does not. However, he rejected the idea that Russia is a more serious threat to the United States than China. Russia cannot destroy us Evanina explained. Unless it uses a nuclear bomb, Russia will not be able to destroy our country. China, as an existential threat, has far more arrows in its quiver. Both countries have such intentions, but I would say that China is six or eight times more effective and dangerous than Russia. From counterintelligence. The counterintelligence chief also accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of inciting racial and political divisions. I would say that Putin has achieved his goal in terms of inciting controversy in America, he said. The current situation, our distrust of the electoral process this is clearly not without the efforts of the Russian government. He added that Russia, China, and Iran are trying to prevent the United States from getting the coronavirus vaccine. I would say that the same three countries China, Russia, and Iran are trying to prevent us from getting the vaccine, Evanina said. China and Iran are actively involved in the competition for the production of the vaccine. Russia has publicly stated that it already has the vaccine. I read the other day that 50 percent of the Russian population doesnt believe this. However, he said that America has resilience and has invented high-quality vaccines in the past. I think it will help us cope, he said. |
