Die militant-islamistischen Taliban haben nach ihrer faktischen Machtübernahme in Afghanistan am Montag überall in der Hauptstadt Kabul Polizeistationen und andere Behördengebäude besetzt. Das sagten Bewohner der Stadt am Montag der Deutschen Presse-Agentur. Auch fuhren bewaffnete Kämpfer in Militär- und Polizeiautos sowie anderen Regierungsfahrzeugen durch die Stadt. Gleichzeitig errichteten sie weitere, eigene Kontrollpunkte in manchen Straßen, wie Bewohner weiter berichteten.
Am Flughafen von Kabul drängten sich am Montag tausende Zivilisten, die aus Angst vor einer erneuten Schreckensherrschaft der Taliban das Land verlassen wollten. Die US-Regierung entsandte 6000 Soldaten zur Sicherung des Flughafens. US-Soldaten feuerten Schüsse in die Luft, um die Menge zu kontrollieren. Zeugen berichteten von mindestens einem Mädchen, das in dem Chaos am Flughafen ums Leben kam.
Die Flughafenverwaltung stellte derweil den kommerziellen Flugverkehr ein und begründete dies mit möglichen "Plünderungen und Verwüstungen". Internationale Fluggesellschaften, darunter auch die Lufthansa, setzten ihre Überflüge über Afghanistan aus.
Deutschland, die USA und andere westliche Staaten arbeiteten mit Hochdruck daran, ihre Staatsbürger und afghanische Mitarbeiter auszufliegen. Die deutsche Luftwaffe entsandte am Montag mehrere Transportflugzeuge in Richtung Afghanistan. Bereits in der Nacht waren rund 40 Botschaftsmitarbeiter in einem US-Flugzeug nach Katar ausgeflogen worden.
Angesichts der chaotischen und sehr späten Evakuierungsaktionen erst inmitten der Machtübernahme der radikalislamischen Taliban in Afghanistan spricht die Opposition von einem Totalversagen der Bundesregierung. Grünen-Kanzlerkandidatin Annalena Baerbock warf der Regierung am Montag vor, "vor der Realität die Augen verschlossen" zu haben. Von einem "historischen Fiasko" sprach Linken-Parteichefin Susanne Hennig-Wellsow.
"Die Bundesregierung muss erklären, wie sie die dramatische Zuspitzung vor Ort derart verschlafen konnte und warum sie so schlecht auf die Evakuierung vorbereitet war", erklärte der FDP-Außenpolitiker Bijan Djir-Sarai. Auch er pochte nun auf eine "schnelle und sichere Evakuierung der deutschen Staatsbürger, der afghanischen Ortskräfte und freien journalistischen Mitarbeiter". "Es darf niemand zurückgelassen werden", forderte der FDP-Politiker.

Die militant-islamistischen Taliban haben nach ihrer faktischen Machtübernahme in Afghanistan am Montag überall in der Hauptstadt Kabul Polizeistationen und andere Behördengebäude besetzt. Das sagten Bewohner der Stadt am Montag der Deutschen Presse-Agentur. Auch fuhren bewaffnete Kämpfer in Militär- und Polizeiautos sowie anderen Regierungsfahrzeugen durch die Stadt. Gleichzeitig errichteten sie weitere, eigene Kontrollpunkte in manchen Straßen, wie Bewohner weiter berichteten.
Am Flughafen von Kabul drängten sich am Montag tausende Zivilisten, die aus Angst vor einer erneuten Schreckensherrschaft der Taliban das Land verlassen wollten. Die US-Regierung entsandte 6000 Soldaten zur Sicherung des Flughafens. US-Soldaten feuerten Schüsse in die Luft, um die Menge zu kontrollieren. Zeugen berichteten von mindestens einem Mädchen, das in dem Chaos am Flughafen ums Leben kam.
Die Flughafenverwaltung stellte derweil den kommerziellen Flugverkehr ein und begründete dies mit möglichen "Plünderungen und Verwüstungen". Internationale Fluggesellschaften, darunter auch die Lufthansa, setzten ihre Überflüge über Afghanistan aus.
Deutschland, die USA und andere westliche Staaten arbeiteten mit Hochdruck daran, ihre Staatsbürger und afghanische Mitarbeiter auszufliegen. Die deutsche Luftwaffe entsandte am Montag mehrere Transportflugzeuge in Richtung Afghanistan. Bereits in der Nacht waren rund 40 Botschaftsmitarbeiter in einem US-Flugzeug nach Katar ausgeflogen worden.
Angesichts der chaotischen und sehr späten Evakuierungsaktionen erst inmitten der Machtübernahme der radikalislamischen Taliban in Afghanistan spricht die Opposition von einem Totalversagen der Bundesregierung. Grünen-Kanzlerkandidatin Annalena Baerbock warf der Regierung am Montag vor, "vor der Realität die Augen verschlossen" zu haben. Von einem "historischen Fiasko" sprach Linken-Parteichefin Susanne Hennig-Wellsow.
"Die Bundesregierung muss erklären, wie sie die dramatische Zuspitzung vor Ort derart verschlafen konnte und warum sie so schlecht auf die Evakuierung vorbereitet war", erklärte der FDP-Außenpolitiker Bijan Djir-Sarai. Auch er pochte nun auf eine "schnelle und sichere Evakuierung der deutschen Staatsbürger, der afghanischen Ortskräfte und freien journalistischen Mitarbeiter". "Es darf niemand zurückgelassen werden", forderte der FDP-Politiker.

Die militant-islamistischen Taliban haben nach ihrer faktischen Machtübernahme in Afghanistan am Montag überall in der Hauptstadt Kabul Polizeistationen und andere Behördengebäude besetzt. Das sagten Bewohner der Stadt am Montag der Deutschen Presse-Agentur. Auch fuhren bewaffnete Kämpfer in Militär- und Polizeiautos sowie anderen Regierungsfahrzeugen durch die Stadt. Gleichzeitig errichteten sie weitere, eigene Kontrollpunkte in manchen Straßen, wie Bewohner weiter berichteten.
Am Flughafen von Kabul drängten sich am Montag tausende Zivilisten, die aus Angst vor einer erneuten Schreckensherrschaft der Taliban das Land verlassen wollten. Die US-Regierung entsandte 6000 Soldaten zur Sicherung des Flughafens. US-Soldaten feuerten Schüsse in die Luft, um die Menge zu kontrollieren. Zeugen berichteten von mindestens einem Mädchen, das in dem Chaos am Flughafen ums Leben kam.
Die Flughafenverwaltung stellte derweil den kommerziellen Flugverkehr ein und begründete dies mit möglichen "Plünderungen und Verwüstungen". Internationale Fluggesellschaften, darunter auch die Lufthansa, setzten ihre Überflüge über Afghanistan aus.
Deutschland, die USA und andere westliche Staaten arbeiteten mit Hochdruck daran, ihre Staatsbürger und afghanische Mitarbeiter auszufliegen. Die deutsche Luftwaffe entsandte am Montag mehrere Transportflugzeuge in Richtung Afghanistan. Bereits in der Nacht waren rund 40 Botschaftsmitarbeiter in einem US-Flugzeug nach Katar ausgeflogen worden.
Angesichts der chaotischen und sehr späten Evakuierungsaktionen erst inmitten der Machtübernahme der radikalislamischen Taliban in Afghanistan spricht die Opposition von einem Totalversagen der Bundesregierung. Grünen-Kanzlerkandidatin Annalena Baerbock warf der Regierung am Montag vor, "vor der Realität die Augen verschlossen" zu haben. Von einem "historischen Fiasko" sprach Linken-Parteichefin Susanne Hennig-Wellsow.
"Die Bundesregierung muss erklären, wie sie die dramatische Zuspitzung vor Ort derart verschlafen konnte und warum sie so schlecht auf die Evakuierung vorbereitet war", erklärte der FDP-Außenpolitiker Bijan Djir-Sarai. Auch er pochte nun auf eine "schnelle und sichere Evakuierung der deutschen Staatsbürger, der afghanischen Ortskräfte und freien journalistischen Mitarbeiter". "Es darf niemand zurückgelassen werden", forderte der FDP-Politiker.
